Abraham

Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.Genesis 15:6

Biography

Born as Abram in Ur of the Chaldeans, Abraham was called by God at age 75 to leave everything for an unknown land. Called the 'father of faith,' God made a covenant with him, promising descendants as numerous as the stars. His greatest test came when God asked him to sacrifice his son Isaac — and his willingness to obey revealed the depth of his trust. God provided a ram instead, foreshadowing Christ as the ultimate sacrifice for humanity.

Spiritual Lesson

Abraham teaches us that faith means stepping out before we can see the destination. He was 'fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised' (Romans 4:21). His willingness to offer Isaac shows that true faith holds nothing back from God — and that God, in turn, provides in ways we cannot anticipate. Through Abraham, all the nations of the earth find blessing.
