James, Son of Alphaeus

Biography
James the son of Alphaeus is one of the lesser-known apostles, sometimes called 'James the Less' or 'James the Younger' to distinguish him from James the son of Zebedee. Little is recorded about him in Scripture beyond his name in the apostolic lists. Church tradition suggests he ministered in Persia and was martyred. His quiet faithfulness — serving without prominent recognition in the most significant movement in human history — is itself a testimony.
Spiritual Lesson
James the Less reminds us that the kingdom of God is built not only by the famous and prominent but by the countless faithful servants who do their work without recognition and leave no notable record. Not every follower of Jesus will be Peter. Most will be more like James the Less — unknown to history but fully known to God, called to faithfulness in the place where they are placed.
