Biography
Rebekah was the wife of Isaac and the mother of Esau and Jacob. She was chosen by God for Isaac through remarkable providential events — Abraham's servant prayed for a specific sign, and Rebekah fulfilled it exactly. Her willingness to leave her family immediately and journey to marry a man she had never met was an act of extraordinary faith. She later played a pivotal role in ensuring that Jacob received Isaac's blessing — though her method was deception, setting in motion complex family consequences.
Spiritual Lesson
Rebekah's 'I will go' is one of Scripture's great declarations of decisive faith. She did not wait for more certainty or negotiate the terms — she stepped forward in trust. Her later deception reminds us that even genuine spiritual perception does not justify using wrong means to achieve right ends. God's sovereign purposes do not depend on our manipulation.
