Old Testament
Psalms 100
Overview
Psalm 100 is a short, exuberant hymn of thanksgiving, the joyful capstone of the enthronement cluster. It calls all the earth to make a joyful noise, to serve the LORD with gladness, and to come into His presence with singing. At its heart is the great confession that the LORD is God, our Maker and Shepherd, and it ends grounding all praise in His enduring goodness, steadfast love, and faithfulness to all generations.
1A Psalm of thanksgiving. Shout for joy to Yahweh, all you lands!
2Serve Yahweh with gladness. Come before his presence with singing.
3Know that Yahweh, he is God. It is he who has made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, and bless his name.
5For Yahweh is good. His loving kindness endures forever, his faithfulness to all generations.
