Old Testament
Psalms 47
Overview
This jubilant enthronement hymn of the sons of Korah summons all peoples to clap their hands and shout to God with cries of joy, for the LORD Most High is a great King over all the earth. It celebrates God ascending his throne amid trumpet blasts, subduing nations under Israel and reigning over them all. The repeated command "Sing praises" rings out as the psalm calls every nation to acknowledge the King of all the earth.
